The aim of the course is to give an overview of how our mind and brain processes language, with an emphasis on bilingualism. The lecture topics cover first and second language acquisition, lexical and grammatical aspects of the bilingual language systems, and neuropsychology of bilingualism. Several examples are drawn from research on Finnish-Swedish bilinguals.
